Visit also the newly discovered DAU GO grotto (wooden stakes) – where in 1288 one of Vietnamese most famous Generals Tran Hung Dao amassed hundreds of stakes deep inside the cave prior to a battle with an invading Mongol army.).

The 7-day trip will take travelers to the remote Vietnam north western part. They will have the opportunity to visit lots of hill tribe villages rich of cultures.

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau

You will be met up by Lotussia Travel local guide and driver at your hotel in Hanoi and head west towards Hoa Binh province. Following lunch in a White Thai village in Mai Chau valley we spend the afternoon walking through the various ethnic minority villages in this area. Overnight in Mai Chau.

Day 2: Mai Chau – Son La

After breakfast served by Thai people under their house-on-stilts, departing Mai Chau we make our way west to Son La. Arriving in Son La late in the afternoon we check into our local guesthouse where we spend the night. Son La is located in a scenic valley, inhabited by Thai, Muong and H’mong minority people. This area is historically important for its involvement in the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France during the first half the 20th century. Overnight in Sonla.

Day 3: Son La – Dien Bien Phu

Following breakfast we will visit the remains of former French prison and enjoy a dip in the local hot- springs. We then board our vehicle for the drive to Dien Bien Phu around 170 km away. It is a 7-hour journey on rough roads, but it is worth while as the scenery is dramatic. We will encounter many ethnic minority people along the way. In the late afternoon we arrive in Dien Bien town and check into our guesthouse for the night. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 4: Dien Bien Phu – Lai Chau

After breakfast this morning we will set out on our drive to Lai Chau, around 8 hours away. After breakfast this morning we will set out on our drive to Lai Chau. This is in quite a remote area and as a result some of the roads will be fairly rough and uneven. Yet this is to our advantage as there will be fewer tourists along the way to spoil our views of the beautiful and dramatic scenery which we will encounter along the way. Once we reach Lai Chau we will visit the local market.

This market is becoming popular with visitors that make the extra effort getting here, as it is one of the most colorful markets in Vietnam. We will continue the short distance to Lai Chau for our accommodation for tonight.

Day 5: Lai Chau – Sapa

From Lai Chau we drive east to Sapa, which is a five-hour drive. As the roads become even rougher, the more deserted they get. But the rougher they get, the better the scenery becomes. The beautiful hill station of Sapa has the best-of-both worlds, breath-taking scenery and modern-day comforts. We leave Tam Duong early for continuing on to Sapa, arriving around lunchtime. After lunch we have a free afternoon to explore the town. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa

Today we start our trek with a five to six hour trek to villages of Cat Cat, Ta Van and Cau May situated in idyllic valleys, which are covered with a patchwork of rice terraces. Cat Cat is home to the H’mong people who originated from China, where they emigrated from about 300 years ago. The H’mong people are easily recognizable due to their dark clothing, usually blue or black. The dye is fashioned from the indigo or hemp plant that is native to the area. H’mong women wear long aprons with embroidered waistcoats and have their hair rolled up into a turban-like hat, whilst the men wear a black skullcap, long waistcoat and loose trousers. As we walk to these villages nestled in the valleys below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. These minority people, including the Red Zao, Hmong and Tay people, walk to Sapa to trade at the markets. Tonight we spend a second night in our guesthouse in Sapa.

Day 7: Sapa – Hanoi

We have an early breakfast this morning before bidding farewell to Sapa and its friendly people. Our destination for today is Hanoi. It is an 10-hour journey back to the nation’s capital along some of Vietnam’s most scenic roads.

Lotussia Travel has just launched a meditation and vegetarian cooking class tour in the old Hanoi suburb pagoda.

Vietnam former’s capital is home to hundreds of well preserved ancient temples and pagodas; there is nowhere better to experience a traditional Buddist prayer of ceremony. Your trip begins as you make offering of fruits or flower to the monk, who guide you around their temple and explain their way of life. He then conduct a personal prayer ceremony with you.

Close your eyes and enjoy a moment of peace and tranquility as you pray for health and happiness, and depart with a special keppsake give to you by the monks, along with a feeling of serenity and well being…

Overlooking slown down to a green lake, the green water will be clear when the quite one. In constrast, reflecting the image will be misleading when the wavy waters. Human brain is like that, the brighter mind will be clear when the spirit of quite focused. Opposite that one, the judge will be less accurate while the idea was injected at anxiety or stress.
The tension will be tired brain, body waste so much energy that the resolution is poor job performance. A lack of concentration students will receive lectures difficult. A plant worker stood an increased risk of imprudent occupational accidents. A spirit of research which is not stable it will be hard to complete their work.

In addition, the conditions for development of industrial civilization with highly competitive, people are faced with many pressures to bear the stress reduces resistance and easily lead to many diseases is this concern. From this fact many people have come to meditation.

One of the highlights of any trip to Vietnam is meditation and vegetarian food even if you do not expect to do much Vietnamese cooking, a cooking class is a fun and interesting way to learn about the local ingriedients and how to make some of the popular vegetarian dishes.

Only half day tour of meditation and vegetarian cooking class is organized by Lotussiatravel within in the morning or afternoon with a trip to the local countryside market followed by a cooking demonstration and lunch or dinner where you can enjoy the dishes that were prepared.

Most of the classes tend to be aimed at casual tourists, rather than serious chefs, and many tend to be cooking demonstrations, rather than classes with individual cooking stations. Please inquire before you book. Also, please keep in mind that some of the smaller, ad-hoc programs may be more flexible to change the menu or request more interaction, especially if you arrange your own private lesson for your group.

Lotussia Travel, a Hanoi – based tour operator announces the offer of 35% discounts for foreign travelers if they book the package tour with Lotussia Travel during the period June – September 2010.
